Why won't transitions work in Sony Vegas?

Okay. Transitions where working just fine now all of a sudden the transitions aren't working at all! I'll drag it where I want it everything will work out but then when it gets to the spot where I decided where on the clip I want it it won't do anything. Any help? Thanks!
